Please follow copyright laws with regard to copies used when preparing for musical events. Listed below are a few "MUST'S and MAY NOT'S" about copying.
Anyone not having sufficient numbers of legal copies will not be permitted to perform!
YOU MUST
Purchase original copies for singers, accompanists, instrumentalists, and judges.
Have written permission from the copyright holder for arrangements that you have created from a copyright piece.
Acknowledge permission to reproduce music on the copies as required by most copyright holders.
YOU MAY NOT
Wait until the last minute to order original copies.
Rewrite your own arrangement of a copyrighted piece of music without written permission from the copyright holder. This includes transposing, adding voices, or adding lyrics.
Copy just the words of a song for the singer without written permission from the copyright holder.
Some publishers are willing to permit you to make slight changes in copyrighted works, but still require you to request and receive written permission from them to do so. Listed below are phone numbers for some publishers of commonly used music.
